“What Do I Say? The Therapist’s Guide” Goes Chinese!!!!

Seriously. My co-author, Charlie Waehler and I just learned that a Chinese publisher has bought the rights to translate our book into Chinese and publish it in China.  I’m thrilled. I’ve never thought of China as a country that was very interested in the field of psychology. When I visited there two years ago, our guide couldn’t understand what I did for a living.  A psychologist?

“We talk to our families,” he said. “What if the problem is with your family?” I asked. “Then we don’t talk to anyone,” he answered.

It seemed like a Western book to me but I hope they love it.  The book has gotten a very good reception here at conventions and conferences. I want to see my name in Chinese………

If you are an early career clinician, a professor who teaches interviewing skills, or a clinical supervisor, you will find  “What Do I Say? The Therapist’s Guide To Answering Client’s Questions” (with C. Waehler, published by John Wiley, 2011) a  practical, useful addition to your library.   http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss?url=search-alias%3Dstripbooks&field-keywords=what+do+i+say+edelstein
