4 Effects That Marriage Has On Health

Marriage affects men and women differently.

Years ago, beginning in 1921, Lewis Terman, Ph.D., began studying 1500 school children. The subjects have been followed steadily so you can imagine how much data has been collected on all sorts lasix natural alternatives of topics. It is referred to as the Longevity Project, now run by Howard Friedman, Ph.D., if you want to look them up.  They have massive amounts of date that they analyze, looking for answers about who stays well and under what conditions.

In reviewing the experiences that people had with marriage, researchers found:

1. Men – Marriage is good for men’s health IF the men were well-suited to marriage AND had a good marriage.

2. Men – Men who got AND STAYED divorce had lowered health.

There are notable differences for women

3. Women – Women who got and stayed divorced, or who were widowed often did exceptionally well.

4. Women – If women got rid of troublesome husbands, they stayed healthy.
