Post-Relationship Binging

I know that binging isn’t the kindest term to apply to post relationship emotions and behavior but, let’s face it, it is often true.   When a relationship goes bad, you feel like you are starving.   Starvation leads to not-always-so-smart over-consumption.

Relationships don’t go bad in one day – it takes time.  The time from “beginning to go bad” to “all over” can be long and grueling.  You go through Cialis 20 mg 36 hour pill tons of emotions; you ricochet from hopeful and hardworking to pessimistic and worn out.  By the time a relationship ends, everyone involved is exhausted.  (See, it is like a starvation diet).

The hunger comes next.  When you are in real need of a good word, being appreciated, being found desirable and loveable, this is when you are in danger of post-relationship binging.   Although I made up the name for this type of post relationship behavior, I’m sure it sounds familiar because it is so normal and common.   Everyone wants to feel good about themselves and break ups don’t give us that feeling.  Advice from psychology?  Enjoy, but be smart and safe.

I’ve observed that married couples often gain weight, enjoying meals together, prepared together, dining out with friends, etc. And then there’s the common phrase that once married \she let herself go\.

I’ve noticed that divorced persons often trim down because they want to be back in the \dating\ scene. The women might start dieting and change their hair color; the men start to go to the gym.
