1. Interviewers like it when you praise the organization, offer a compliment, and show enthusiasm.

2. Avoid blatant self-promotion.

3. When the interviewer asks about how you handled a difficult situation, emphasize how you controlled the situations, rather than letting it control you. This shows employers that you take initiative.

4. Give yourself a pep talk before the interview. It works.

5. Imagine yourself confident and doing well. It also works.

6. Although this one may seem like it contradicts the 2 points above, try it anyway. Avoid fake anything – phony smiling, overly firm handshake, bogus nodding. Believe it or not, good handshakes matter more for women in making a good impression

7. If you have made a mistake or don’t know something, own up – interviewers take it as a show of strength and self observation.

8. If you have a weakness in the job, say it earlier rather than later in the interview. Interviewers like honesty.

9. Save your best achievement and greatest strengths for the end of an interview. It sticks in the interviewer’s memory

10. Watch your language; use good grammar and diction. Lose the uhs, whatevers, like…

11. Don’t be afraid to be unique; people will remember you. This means giving novel answers, not being weird.
