Selective Blindness

We are often blind to those things that are in our best interest to NOT SEE. Selective, huh? But think about it, how often did fans and coaches overlook drug use by players? Even worse, people overlook abuse. Didn’t people overlook Bernie Madoff’s behaviors because they wanted to believe that he could actually get them monetary returns every year, regardless of the stock market’s performance. On a small scale, don’t we overlook a friend’s drinking or drug use because we don’t want the confrontation? It is not in the interest

of harmony to see bad things.

We do not see those things that have potential to

upset us or our lives.
